Men's Basketball adds Coach Sandquist

Northwest Kansas Technical College head basketball coach Jeremy Johnston recently confirmed the hiring of Tim Sandquist as the men's program assistant coach.

Sandquist will be entering his 12th season of coaching college basketball with his most recent tenure being at fellow NJCAA Region VI school Dodge City Community College.

"I am very excited to be joining Coach Johnston's staff at Northwest Tech," Sandquist said. "I have been impressed with what Northwest Tech basketball has accomplished in the last few years and the chance to help grow a program even more was an opportunity I could not pass up."

Coach Johnston said that Sandquist's experiences and work ethic will be a great asset to the program.

"Coach Sandquist brings a wealth of experience to the table for us," Johnston said. "He has been a big part of the recent success at Dodge City, so he knows what it takes to win in our region."

Sandquist, originally from the Omaha area, has also recently worked for Southwestern Community College in Iowa and Nebraska-Omaha before Dodge City. He received his bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in Recreational Administration.
