GOODLAND, KS- Northwest Tech Mavericks soccer hit the road to start their competitive season, taking on Cowley Community College in Arkansas City, KS. Women's soccer continues their winning streak by holding the record of 3-0. After 8 minutes of play Lourdes "Lulu" Moreno, was calm and collected under pressure from the Tigers goalkeeper, rounded her and slotted the ball home for a Lady Mavericks lead which was assisted by Adrijane Felix. The Lady Mavericks held the ball well for around 15 mins playing and building from the back. After 31 minutes Adrijane Felix struck the ball from around 25 yards into the top corner of the goal which was assisted by Sara Aguirre. 

In the second half #3 for the Lady Tigers struck after 55min's of play which left the game 2-0. After a tense 20 minutes of play, captain of The Lady Mav's Marina Lopez De Calle Pi, broke away after being assisted by Elsa Echarri Rico. 1v1 with the goalie and slotted home for a 3-1 lead with 15 left in the 2nd half. With only 1minute 30 secs The Lady Tigers broke away and tucked the ball in the corner against goalkeeper Camryn Laberteaux.

After the game Coach Carroll said; "I am extremely happy with the work rate of the ladies, however we need to tighten up on the defensive side. We have made individual mistakes and if we can limit those, anything will be possible with the talent we have. But I like to say that it doesn't matter how you play because at the end of the day a win is a win." 
 
The game ended with the final score of 3-2 . The Lady Mavs total season record including exhibition games 3-0-0. The Lady Mavericks soccer team will host their first home game on Tuesday, Sept 05 against Pratt Community College at 1:00 p.m.
